orbit stroller

My father-in-law and his wife just gave Elle a serious upgrade in her infant car seat and stroller (she has been using the Britax we bought for Cole 3 years ago)! We just took it for a test drive last night and she was an angel at dinner in it...cozy and snug as a bug. It's this beautiful mocha and cream color and rides so smooth! Elle is so hip at only 4 months of age :). Thanks Papa and Baba!

Zinna's

Stop by Zinna's in Scotts Valley...I've carried my blankets there for a couple years now! I love them because they call me all the time to restock. Order up!

the future of sewing

This may just be the future in sewing...how cool is this machine. It matches the color of the fabric or paper and dyes the white thread to the color you need. No more digging for the right thread color to match your project.

bye bye bobbi brown

I recently ran out of my Bobbi Brown foundation and went to re-order it online, I gasped when I saw the cost. I must have forgotten I spent $45 dollars on it...eek!
I couldn't bring myself to spend that much again so I asked our Nanny Vanessa what she used (since her skin is always so nice). She sent me to Longs and I bought Loreal's new true match super blendable foundation $10.49. It took me some time to figure out how to tell what my color was (so go to the store kid less). First you need to figure out which category your skin under tone falls under (neutral, warm or cool) and then you find your color with in that category. I ended up being under warm and found a couple of colors and tested on my lower chin. I tried it for the first time today and LOVE it. Blends well and even's out skin tone with a smooth finish.
Ironically I was reading the new issue of Instyle last night with Scarlett Johansson on the cover and they do a huge beauty product review and the Loreal new true match was in there as one of the best inexpensive foundations. Bye, bye Bobbi Brown I can't afford you anymore.

bye bye $45.00

baby love!

To my surprise I got a box in the mail today from my best friends mom who is an amazing sewer! In it was a little light blue HAND smocked dress for Elle size 12 months! DYING it's so cute...I want to hang it in her room as part of the decor (I can't even imagine putting it on her anytime soon because she spits up all over anything that is near her). The stitching detail is so amazing you can just tell the love that went into making it! They definitely don't make things like this anymore. Jane...thank you so much!

Lemons

Fresh from the tree! My hubby and I always joke about our lemon tree because we bought it at Kmart and the garden snob that he is said "that's never going to survive, it's from Kmart". A few years later it's producing like crazy and such a happy little tree.

ribbon

I love checking the mail! Today I received my yummy new ribbon for wrapping. I've found a couple of great wholesalers on eBay that sell the organza ribbon with the satin stripe down the middle. I'm dreaming about my office space (which should be done with in the month) and can't wait to have the hubby make me a ribbon holder. I found some really cute ideas while searching the web.

quote of the day

Another great thought to chew on:
Studies show that people who worry about mistakes shut down, but those who are relaxed about doing badly soon learn to do well. Success is built on failure.

perspective

I always like to be some what introspective and think that while going through the challenges in life are difficult there is always a lesson learned and you are wiser for it. Today I was reading an article about a jewelry designer and she said it perfectly!

Mantra: "learn from it" No matter how difficult a situation is there is always something you can take away. Monique Pean

I love Helen Ficalora's white gold alphabet charms but recently found another one by Maya brenner that is adorable! It looks super petite and feminine. Add it to the wish list...

new fabrics

When my son was born he received a cream blanket that he is now inseparable with. He wants to take it everywhere and always sleeps with it, typically referred to as "nigh, nigh". Needless to say it looks quite appalling (3 years later) and I can't break him of it. It's rather embarrassing since I have a blanket business, BUT in all fairness I launched my blanket business when he was 18 months old and already attached :). While searching for new fabrics I am always on the look out for something similar because it would be a nice addition to my inventory and I finally found something I like. I'll be launching some new blankets to replace what I call my basics (solid color with mini white polka dots). The blankets will be one piece of fabric so a lot thinner for the summer and super soft and cozy...stay tuned. Below are some fabric samples of the material and I also added a picture of my son's cream blanket (now kind of brownish) next to the new cream one that I will carry.

Pietra's Village of Hope

My good friend Ruby is gathering donations for her friend Pietra who was just recently diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Wishing them the best of luck with the donations and best wishes to her family during this really challenging time. The Bundle donated our pink paisley baby blanket that was spotted with Rebecca Romijn in Instyle Magazine and our mini pink polka dot blanket.

love these

I used to work at Ralph lauren and bought a pair of clogs that looked like these...I used to live in them..so cute. However I'm really liking the sandals too!

Mad Hatters

The Mad Hatters is an amazing group of women in Santa Cruz that make and donate hand knitted hats to all the newborn babies at Dominican hospital. When Elle was born I received 3 of them from the nurses at the hospital (I think I was only supposed to get one but Elle was in the hospital for 7 days so she ended up with 3). Ironically my friend and next door neighbor Sue also gave me 2 hand knitted hats for Elle that were made by her friend Patt. It was just recently that I found out that Patt was a part of the Mad Hatters group. She asked me to take some pictures of Elle with her hats on and these are some of them....it's really hard to take photo's of newborns.

cadburry mini eggs

Oh I am in big trouble. I'm trying to lose the last 10lbs. of Pregnancy weight but then of course it falls on my favorite time of the year when my favorite candy comes out. I've already managed to eat one bag and refrained from buying another at the store the other day! I'm hoping that all stores with in a 50 mile radius sell out fast!

Food Inc

Last night my husband and I watched Food Inc... I am totally annoyed and mortified (just as much as when I watch the political BS)! Everyone should watch it and get informed. One thing that particularly annoyed me is they have engineered a soy bean that is resistant to Round Up....GREAT just what we need!
