12 blankets out the door

Last night I stayed up really late sewing 12 blankets that are headed to Jewels and Pinstripes to go in celeb gift baskets and also media/auction giveaways! I don't know why I leave these things to the last minute? When I do that I never really get to look at the fruits of my labor for very long and they look so cute all wrapped up! Here is a small list of the current recipients.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner (Seraphina Rose-Girl)
Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa (Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha-Boy)
Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson (Dexter Lloyd -Boy)
Christopher Gorham and his wife Anel (Alondra Cecilia Lopez- Girl)

video

I've received this video from several very sweet friends recently, it's definitely watch worthy and reminds me that I'm so glad to have girl friends.

sunglasses

My husband and I stopped at some outlet stores on the way up to see my mother in law and my sister in law. I found these really cute sunglasses that are TDF and came home and looked them up on the internet. I'm trying to be good and not spend any money right now....window shopping will have to due :(.

Zinnias in Scotts Valley

On Saturday I made a visit to Zinnia's in Scotts Valley to purchase a gift for a friends daughters 2nd birthday. While I was there I of course took a peek at my inventory of blankets they have there. I was really exited to see that they had sold another 5 blankets in just a couple of weeks! I'm so excited people are buying them...now only if I could get another 20 accounts like that :). Little things like that keep me motivated...and that's how it all starts! 2009 is already looking great :).

Happy New Year!

It's a new year and a fresh start for all of us! I bought a book last year called "don't sweat the small stuff" and I often pull it out to get some positive advice when I'm perplexed by something or someone. I think this is a good one for 2009!

Be Happy Where you are #69

"Sadly, many of us continually postpone our happiness--in-definitely. It's not that we consciously set out to do so, but that we keep convincing ourselves, "someday I'll be happy." We tell ourselves we'll be happy when our bills are paid, when we get out of school, get our first job, a promotion. We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough--we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire. And on and on and on!

Meanwhile, life keeps moving forward. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. "
