New Pic's

My talented friend and photographer Pascale Wowak let me borrow her daughter and also took some ABSOLUTELY adorable pics of her daughter with one of my new blanket colors...they'll be updated on the website as soon, as I get my act together :). Such a talented photographer...she took these and about 30 others in about 10 minutes! I wish I had a smidgen of her talent.

Here's a preview:

need therapy #2

So with the economy the way it is and the fact that everyone is scaling back on many things I've recently become addicted to these sale websites that have 2-3 day sales with most things being at least 50% off. You never know what kind of sale is going to be happening and they range from womens clothes, women's accessories, children's wear, mens wear etc.
Every morning I get emails from these sites and it tells me what the sale of the day is....it's totally addicting because it's a great way to buy birthday presents, shower gifts and of course stuff for the new little girl we'll be adding to the family.

Here are my 3 most addicting sites:

Baby Steals
Haute Look
Billion Dollar Babes

Today on Haute Look there is an adorable kids brand called "kit & lili". Here is some of the stuff they're are selling...adorable.

sigg

SIGG water bottles, which have long been perceived to be the eco-friendly alternative to plastic water bottles, has just confessed something that has sent huge ripples through the media - all of their bottles manufactured before August of last year actually DO contain BPA - according to a press statement made by Sigg CEO Steve Wasik. In case you aren’t familiar with the notorious chemical, Bisphenol A is an endocrine disruptor. Part of what made SIGG so popular in the first place was when SIGG marketing tactics involved pointing fingers at polycarbonate water bottle manufacturers - claiming that these types of bottles leached BPA. Not surprisingly, parents and eco-conscious consumers everywhere turned to SIGG bottles as a safe way to tote water on the go without being exposed to the dangerous effects of bisphenol-A, but there is a daunting sense of mistrust now that we learn we’ve been duped. Read on to see how SIGG was able to mislead us.

SIGG’s proprietary “water-based epoxy liner,” was indeed suspected of containing BPA, but representatives from the company released statements stating that the liner was never found to leach BPA in extensive tests. Reassuring to the public as that was, the whole thing was a matter of syntax. In actuality, SIGG is now admitting that their product did contain BPA, although it was never found to leach it. The tricky wording seems like it was a blatant attempt to draw our attention away from the truth, but there is no evidence of SIGG having lied - technically.
The shocking facts came to light when, one whole year after changing their liner to a new “EcoCare” BPA-free formula, SIGG fessed up. We’re happy to see that they have made an effort to rectify their mistake, but the lost trust won’t be easy to regain. Companies need to be forthcoming about what materials are in their products - especially when we are talking about children’s drinking and feeding products.

sittercity.com

Unfortunately I recently found out that I was losing my nanny in a few weeks so I'm in a mad scramble to find a new one before she goes back to school. My cousin told me about this site and it's awesome! There is a fee of 80.00 for 1 year but I figure it's worth it to find someone to take care of Cole that is qualified and to be able to pre-screen applicants via email. I posted an ad and got several emails the first day, I'm interviewing this weekend...wish me luck!

Nordstrom Anniv. Sale

I love sandals and my friend had these and I had to have them, she said she didn't mind if I "single white femaled" her. I love the Nordstrom sale...great finds and they are really comfortable.

July 28th already!

It's been over a month and a half since I blogged...I'm really bogging on keeping up, daily life has taken over since I started working again. My days are filled with reading and editing contracts rather than sewing and playing with Cole.

While my job has replaced some things it's actually been a pleasant surprise joining the work force again. I've been trying to keep up with the bundle but sometimes somethings just gotta give and we need some R & R. Good news is my blankets are selling like hot cakes so my mom has kindly helped me with sewing at night and on the weekends at her house. We're trying to get caught up as we speak so I have a little down time and am not sewing until all hours of the night.

We've also spent a couple great weekends in Tahoe with our friends which has been really nice since it's so relaxing up there.

I have several new fabrics which I promise to post soon, the honest truth is once I get them made they sell so I need to take pic's right away and get my site updated...my Virgo/Type A personality would normally go crazy not to get this done right away but I've learned to let go of some of it and just let thing happen they way they should...sometimes there is just not enough time in the day for everything.

Instyle

This weekend was filled with lots of nice surprises! Friday night my husband flew down to LA to help his best friend move back to town so I went to the grocery store and picked up a few things AND at the last minute decided to pick up a couple of magazines to read that night (Instyle & Real Simple).

Unfortunately I didn't get to them that night but started to read Instyle (June issue with Rebecca Romijn on the cover) that afternoon when my son was napping. All of a sudden I was reading it and on page 28 was a picture of Rebecca Romijn and her Husband Jerry O'connell wrapping one of their twins in my blanket (pink medallion- Jerry is wrapping her in it). I almost wet my pants..I was so excited.
I drastically cut back on my magazine reading but now I'm wondering if I need to check these mags out more often. It was such a nice surprise and totally made my night.

The next day I received a call from Zinna's the local gift store that sells my blankets...I had just been in there 2 weeks prior to restock them with blankets when she said..."I only have four blankets left..we need more". I love that! It's always a nice feeling when people like the things that I create.

I'm always inspired by women who forge ahead, do what the love and not let the everyday mundane things bog them down and especially not let any one hinder them from their journey.

shoes

I've been eyeing these shoes for the last two months and decided to bite the bullet and get them since a trip that my BFF and I were going to take is getting a bit delayed AND they went on sale! I'm hoping I will love them when I get them delivered. Its always hard shopping online but thought these would be a good change from my everyday Havaianas plus they will make me taller. I hope they're comfortable.

life

I'm feeling bad...my blog and my website is getting put to the back burner since I got an official job in January. Unfortunately I don't have as much time as I did before so I the bundle has been getting a bit neglected. Tonight I've got a little kick to get things rolling again (4 day weekend)...I have two new fabrics that I need to get on the website and want to really spend some time developing some new products (my favorite part of the creative process). Wish me luck...and I promise to get my butt sewing again.
